Here is the Week Three Video Blog! Is Cindy riding Tucker yet? Check it out to find out! I know many of you would love to see video of Tucker Bucking….but the first time it happened my video person was so into what was happening she put down the video:0). The second time he rodeoed with me, no one was videoing and I hope he doesn’t blow again, so you guys just might miss out on that little bit of training!

SEE YA NEXT WEEK!
This week has sure had its ups and downs! Last night I had a great ride on Tucker! He finally seemed to accept his life situation and give up a lot of fear! His mind is opening up to me and he is really learning well! He is truly a beautiful horse with a great personality and temperament. He does have a strong will though and when he makes up his mind that he doesn’t want to do something, he stands firm on his commitment! Even though this can make it hard to teach him sometimes; it also means that when he commits to learning something new he learns it and remembers it! At first when I started the lessons to build up to riding he resisted allot by not wanting to move his feet forward. Even when I would send him in the round pen he would move tense and stiff. I doubted his athletics; but only because his movement wasn’t free flowing. Now, as he starts to trust and relax his movement has completely changed. If a horse is tense and not moving he is keeping his mind and body prepared to either stop and fight or bolt and buck. He has to let go of his fears and apprehension and move forward. Free of all the baggage that has weighted him down before. Tucker’s athletics is really starting to shine and I look forward to building his upper level performance in a few weeks! I can only imagine how great he will be next year!
So cool that he is mine to keep! He is mine to keep! Last night that hit me that I am not getting this horse ready for a new home and owner. I am building this relationship and all of his training for me! WOW! It is very different looking at it this way. I have to remind myself of that as before I tried to keep my heart somewhat guarded as I knew I was not my mustangs long term partner, but just the vessel to prepare the mustang for his new life. I still cried like a baby at the adoptions; however I was thrilled to see them have successful lives from a successful program produced to get trained mustangs into people’s lives. It definitely is a great cause, but my heart breaks every time I leave them in Fort Worth. I guess I will never be a trainer that looks at the horses as only “business”. If that makes me weak, so what! My love for horses started the day I was born as I believe God made me to do this. So, the day I stop loving them is the day dirt covers my eyes and the next thing I see is Jesus’ sweet face. I have to let go of the baggage I have from the past and look to the future; trusting God to” make my paths straight.” His will, will be done. I have to drop the weight that has been holding me back, reach for his hand, and let him pick me up and carry me through the next 8 weeks and then on through the future! With my two equine partners: Tucker & Joshua the Mustangs!
